Pincher Creek Town Council approved the Community Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) at the January 10 Council meeting.  This strategy will create a new path to achieve the community’s goal and bring old and new ideas for growth to fruition.

How to become a lifeguard

The Pincher Creek Swimming Pool is looking for part-time and casual lifeguards and front desk staff to work weekends, holidays, evenings. It is a great way to work, stay active and you will receive some great pool perks!  We have courses right here in Pincher Creek, you could become a fully certified lifeguard and start earning money this fall and winter.

Beginning in 2017, Alberta Municipal Affairs started reporting on a new performance measure, which identified the percentage of municipalities that were deemed to be “not at risk” based on financial and governance risk indicators.

Restrictions Exemption Program in Effect for Rec facilities
September 20, 2021
As of Monday September 20, 2021, recreation facilities owned and operated by the Town of Pincher Creek will be following the Restrictions Exemption Program for all adult programming.  This also allows for the Town’s recreational facilities to operate with no capacity restrictions and adult/senior sport, fitness and recreation opportunities to continue operations.

Recreation Energy Conservation (REC) program
August 5, 2021
As part of the MCCAC’s Recreation Energy Conservation (REC) program, the Town of Pincher Creek has completed a lighting retrofit at the Multi-Purpose Facility, updating 151 lighting fixtures in the facility to LED fixtures. The project was completed in July 2021.

Lead levels in drinking water
May 19, 2021
Lead levels in Canada's drinking water have been in the news recently.  The Town of Pincher Creek would like residents to know the following:

$3.1 million will be spent on new CT outpatient services
May 17, 2021
More than $3.1 million will be spent on new CT outpatient services, including space and a new CT scanner, at the Pincher Creek Health Centre. The computerized tomography (CT) scanner will provide predominantly elective scans for many patients in Pincher Creek and the surrounding area. Patients will be served locally, reducing travel times, wait times and improving patient outcomes. The project is expected to begin in the coming months; more detailed timelines will be shared once the work is underway.
